Sarah Geronimo serenades boyfriend Matteo Guidicelli on his 25th birthday

LOVE was definitely in the air last March 26 when Popstar Princess Sarah Geronimo serenaded his boyfriend Matteo Guidicelli during his 25th birthday celebration.  Last year, Sarah also expressed her love for Matteo via the John Legend song, All Of Me.  This time, she sang Thinking Out Loud, one of the hit songs of Ed Sheeran.  The sweethearts recently watched Sheeran’s recent concert at the SM Mall of Asia.

Matteo also became emotional when Sarah was singing to him.

Masaya tayo dahil marami na kaming pinagdaanan, ganun-ganun,” he said in an interview with PEP.ph.  “At parang she’s growing, she’s now happier, and to witness all of that, I just got emotional.”

Aside from the hugs, kisses and now being comfortable showing their affections for each other in public, Matteo was also teary-eyed because of the situation.

“My parents were there…Sarah’s efforts to make me happy.  Parang lumambot ako dun, e,” he said.

Still, there are still speculations that everything is not rosy in their relationship.  One rumor is that Sarah’s parents have still yet to accept Matteo.  In fact, the singer’s parents, Delfin and Divine were not present during the party.  That was why when asked to elaborate on his birthday wish, Matteo explained that he only asks for happiness and acceptance.

Although he did say that his relationship with Sarah’s father is “okay,” Matteo awkwardly added that, “Her parents and I, we don’t think the same (way).”

Still, Matteo said that he respects whatever mindset his girlfriend’s parents have.

“I can’t do anything because they’re the people Sarah loves the most so I love them too, and I want to love them, too.”

We would like to send our prayers for healing and strength to singer Joey Albert, as she battles the big C once again.

Last March 26, Joey’s Facebook friends were stunned by a message posted on her page.

“On January 28, 2015, Joey’s medical tests confirmed that her colon cancer had recurred.  Please join us, her Facebook administrative team, in praying for her successful surgery on March 27.  Let’s claim another victory over cancer…”

Joey fought cervical cancer in 1995, and in 2003 was diagnosed with colon cancer, the same disease that claimed the lives of her father and sister.  She was a cancer survivor for over a decade before this latest bout.

We have checked Joey’s Facebook page for updates on her condition, as of press time, they have not put out new information.  Let us just continue to pray for her recovery and healing.

Another artist who had to fight cancer is veteran actor Tirso “Pip” Cruz III.  During his advance birthday party last March 28, he shared that the event was literally a ‘celebration of life.’

Pip finally broke his silence about his health emergency last year, wherein he had to undergo surgery after doctors found out that he had lung cancer during a routine checkup.

The checkup revealed a lump in his lung, which he hoped that can be cured with medication.  Unfortunately, his CT scans and biopsy revealed that the lump was malignant.

In September 2014, Tirso went under the knife at St. Luke’s where the doctors had to cut away 1/3 of his lower right lung.  After his operation, he also had to undergo ‘adjuvant treatment,’ something like chemotherapy but more on preventive and not for curing.

Tirso admitted that he was still scared six months after his operation on the results of his latest tests.  Thankfully, the doctor declared two weeks ago that he is 100 percent cancer-free.

The veteran actor would like to thank his friends from showbiz who knew of his condition, but kept it from the public due to the request of his family.
