Handsome actor and singer Jericho Rosales has a lot to smile out these days.  Of course, aside from the fact that he has been making it in the international scene with him winning Best Actor/Outstanding Acting Achievement award at the recent Newport Beach Film Fest for the film Alagwa (Breakaway), Echo is now engaged to her girlfriend, Kim Jones.
The Kapamilya actor posted on his Instagram account last August 4, pictures of Kim wearing his engagement ring with the caption “engaged.”
The Buzz co-host Toni Gonzaga also shared that she found out about the proposal from her boyfriend’s (Paul Soriano) mom, Tita Marissa.  Toni said that Paul’s mom texted her first, saying that, “Jericho is engaged.  He proposed, sa service, kanina sa New Life.”
New Life is the Christian church that Jericho and Kim belong to, the same where Toni and Paul attends service.  Paul’s father, Jeric Soriano, is a pastor.  Toni also explained that the theme of New Life in Alabang is about love, and Echo asked permission from the church if he can propose to Kim after the service.
The 33-year-old actor was interviewed by The Buzz via phone patch and was asked how he knew Kim was “the one.”  He replied, “She’s super special kasi.  Ibang klase si Kim.  You know naman, any sabi kong past or everything.  She didn’t mind. She just accepted me, loved me.”
Echo also shared that Kim didn’t have any idea about the proposal.
Right now, they don’t have an exact date for the wedding, but he said they are talking about how they want their special day to be.  “We want sa beach.  Sa beach any gusto namin,” Echo said.
Congratulations to Jericho and Kim!

Now it’s confirmed.
Singer, composer, songwriter and comedian Ogie Alcasid has signed a contract with Kapatid TV5, after staying for 18 years with GMA 7.
In a press conference during the contract-signing last August 6, Ogie shared that one of the reasons why he decided to sign up with TV5 was because of the request of the network’s Chairman, Manny V. Pangilinan.  MVP, as the businessman is called, was Ogie’s ninong for both his weddings—first with ex-wife, former beauty queen Michelle Van Eimeren in 1998, and then with Asia’s Songbird Regine Velasquez in 2010.
Aside from MVP’s request, Ogie said that he cannot pass up the opportunity given to him at TV5 as the head of the music business unit of the network.  Emphasizing his love for Original Pilipino Music or OPM, he shared that with his new position, he would be able to help the music industry more.
Details of the contract were not released, but Ogie shared that “It’s a long-term contract.”
With the years with GMA 7, Ogie is also happy that the big bosses at his former home network gracefully accepted his decision to move to TV5.  In a statement released by GMA Network, it said, “We thank him for being part of the Network’s success all these years.”
As for his wife, singer Regine Velasquez, all that Ogie can say is that in due time, everyone will know what she’s up to.  “And it’s something very, very positive din.”
There are speculations going on that Regine might also make the move to TV5, since her contract with GMA 7 has also expired.  However, Ogie refuses to make a comment about his wife’s career.
Regine is part of the GMA 7’s Sunday musical-variety show Sunday All Stars, and is still doing Sarap Diva, a cooking/talk show every Saturday.
