‘Together We Rise, the Time is Now’ for LA County’s biggest Philippine American celebration

Event to be held on July 9 in Cerritos, CA

Cerritos, CA – There’s nothing more beautiful than seeing people coming together – breaking bread and celebrating in this post-pandemic time. And this is what the Filipino American community and its supporters will witness on July 9 at the Don Don Knabe Community Regional Park on 19700 S. Bloomfield Ave. in the City of Cerritos.

The day will start at 9 a.m., with a parade of community leaders, dignitaries and beauty queens. Get ready and fit with an interactive Zumba dance at 9:50 a.m. Listen to inspiring panels featuring Filipino elected officials. There will also be cultural presentations on the main stage packed with entertainers who are hyped and ready to entertain the crowd – Miss Saigon alum Emeben Baysic; “Star in a Million” finalist, performer and actor Garth Garcia; The Filipino American Symphony Orchestra of FASO; and many more!

The Filipino Channel will host a TFC hour featuring games and prizes capped off by performances from Filipino R&B singer/songwriter and celebrated performer Kiana V and music producer, MYX VJ and Wish 107.5 DJ Robin Nievera. Prepare to dance with 80’s and 90’s dance band Playback Jukebox who will take over the stage in the last hour. The band features Introvoys’ Paco Arespacochaga.

Food trucks will be present, as well as a total of 62 confirmed food, retail, non-profit organization booths that will be offering an array of services to the attendees. In addition, several workshops will be held in the gymnasium: Atty. John Perry of Perry & Alznauer law office will be giving a talk on immigration, and entertain questions in a live QnA. VistaLand will talk about real estate and investing in the Philippines. There will also be a musical instrument class facilitated by FASO.

This historic gathering is hosted by National Federation of Filipino American Federation Associations (NaFFAA)  – Greater Los Angeles in partnership with Los Angeles County’s 4th District Janice Hahn and L.A. Sheriff Alex Villanueva.
