A Two-Day Extravaganza in NYC Highlighting Lumpia and Kalamansi
Over 50 Filipino small businesses are coming together to celebrate Filipino American History Month (FAHM) in New York this weekend!
Get ready for an unforgettable two-day event hosted by Philippines Fest, the largest Filipino Street Fair on the East Coast. The festivities kick off on October 7th with the vibrant Kalamansi Festival, paying tribute to the beloved Filipino citrus fruit. Then, on October 8th, we continue the celebration with the Lumpia Festival, where you can savor delicious lumpia, a cherished Filipino dish.
But that’s not all! The organizers have lined up thrilling activities for both days.
Are you up for a challenge? Test your mettle in our Lumpia Eating Contest for a chance to win $1000. Wayne Algenio, the 2022 Lumpia Eating Contest winner who devoured a whopping 69 pieces of lumpia in ten minutes, will be there to defend his title.
If you’ve got a passion for music, there is a Karaoke Singing Competition for you. Showcase your vocal talents and sing your heart out to a mix of Filipino and American hits. It’s your moment to shine and win fantastic prizes.
The organizers of Philippines Fest extend a warm invitation to everyone to join them in this celebration of Filipino American history and culture. Experience the vibrant traditions, savor mouthwatering delicacies, and take part in friendly competitions.
Save the dates: October 7th for the Kalamansi Festival on 4th Avenue between 12th & 13th Street, and October 8th for the Lumpia Festival on Broadway between 79th-81st Street, from 10 am to 6 pm. Mark your calendars and get ready for an unforgettable experience.
