Applications for AANHPI students are due Sept. 1
SACRAMENTO — The Asian Pacific Islander Legislative Caucus Foundation is accepting applications for a $2,500 college scholarship aimed at helping Asian American, Native Hawaiian and Pacific Islander students pursue higher education.
The application deadline is 11:59 p.m. on Sept. 1, 2026, according to the foundation’s current scholarship announcement. The program provides financial assistance to AANHPI students attending or entering college.
Applicants must complete all questions in the application and upload unofficial transcripts. Incoming freshmen are also required to submit proof of college acceptance.
The scholarship is part of the foundation’s continuing efforts to reduce financial barriers to higher education for AANHPI students in California. Assemblymember Ash Kalra’s office described the program earlier this year as an initiative intended to help students meet the costs of pursuing a college education.
The Asian Pacific Islander Legislative Caucus Foundation is a separate nonprofit organization associated with the work of California’s Asian American and Pacific Islander Legislative Caucus. Public charity records identify the Sacramento-based foundation as an organization formed in 2012 and currently registered to operate or solicit for charitable purposes in California.

Applicants must be signed into a Google account to access and complete the application form. A community notice distributed through the office of state Sen. Christopher Cabaldon also lists the scholarship at $2,500 and the Sept. 1 deadline.
The foundation’s announcement says applicants should submit all required materials by the deadline. Students may also access the application by scanning the QR code included in the scholarship flyer.
