LOS ANGELES – Consul General Leo M. Herrera-Lim meets with members of the Filipino American Community at the Rizal Hall at the Philippine Consulate General on 25 April 2014.
In Consul General Herrera-Lim’s welcome remarks, he encouraged the Filipino-American community to play an active role in enhancing the economic growth of the Philippines and join the 9th Ambassadors/Consuls General and Tourism Tour with the basic tour beginning from July 28-31, 2014. He added that the Consulate General is ready to assist in the Fil-Am activities that foster trade and investment between the United States and the Philippines.
The event was attended by 126 members of the Filipino-American community.
The Consulate General of the Philippines in Los Angeles was established in 1947 to implement Philippine foreign policy within its jurisdiction and foster closer relations with the ever-growing Filipino-American community.
It serves the needs of the largest Filipino community in the United States through the following services: assistance to distressed Filipinos, economic diplomacy, issuance of passports and visas, civil registration, notarials and other legal services, and the promotion of Philippine culture.
