Five popular eateries coming to downtown Glendale 

Some exciting news for foodies who live and work in Glendale.

Caruso Affiliated, the privately held real estate company behind The Americana at Brand and the Grove, announced on Thursday, May 12 that in addition to burger chain Shake Shack, four eateries will be making their way to downtown Glendale this fall.

Last December, it was revealed that Shake Shack would have its second Southern California outpost at 252 S. Brand in the city.

Eggslut, Greenleaf Gourmet Chopshop, Mainland Poke and Philz Coffee are also confirmed as tenants for the new development, which is eyed to make Brand Boulevard a more “walkable destination.”

Within a few blocks, the dining and shopping options are abundant. Right across the street are restaurants like Lemonade, Din Tai Fung and Bourbon Steak by Michael Mina at The Americana at Brand.

“Glendale has quickly become a mecca for both destination fashion and food concepts. We are excited to welcome these cult-cool, new tenants as the latest additions to Glendale’s downtown district. These tenants further define the city as one of the hippest enclaves of Los Angeles,” Kloe Colacarro, head of leasing for Caruso Affiliated, said in a statement.

City officials and members of the media got to taste some of the offerings from the eateries last Thursday, including Shake Shack’s famous ShackBurger and strawberry frozen custard and the ‘Slut’ (coddled egg on top of potato purée) from Eggslut. San Francisco-originated Philz Coffee served its medium and dark roasts, while Mainland Poke Shop had bites of salmon poke and Greenleaf Gourmet Chopshop offered turkey melt on pretzel bread and a mixed greens salad.

No exact date has been announced for the openings of these spots, but in the meantime, you can satisfy your cravings by lining up at Shake Shack’s West Hollywood location or at Grand Central Market in downtown LA for Eggslut.
