Asian Journal Publications wishes to congratulate Attorney Roland Tong for reaching a very important milestone in his career. This year marks the 20th anniversary of his law practice. Mr. Tong graduated from Loyola Law School of Los Angeles in June 2001. He passed the California bar exam in December 2001 and the Nevada bar exam in 2002.
Mr. Tong is one of the few U.S. attorneys who is born and raised in the Philippines and attended undergraduate and law school in the United States. He grew up in Bacolod City. While growing up in Bacolod, he attended and played basketball for St. John’s Institute from elementary to high school. After high school, he moved to the U.S. and earned a bachelor’s degree in biochemistry at Loyola Marymount University. He briefly worked as an Analytical Chemist at Allergan, Inc. then decided to study Law full time at Loyola Law School. To this day, Mr. Tong speaks Ilonggo and Tagalog fluently.
In his 20 years of practice, Mr. Tong has worked as a partner at a few California law firms, including one of the largest law firms in the state. He also worked in-house as general counsel at a technology company. Mr. Tong devotes his practice to protecting his client’s assets through estate planning, intellectual property, business and commercial law, and bankruptcy. He continues to serve his Filipino community with his immigration practice.
