Megastar Sharon Cuneta is back ‘home’ at ABS-CBN

After more than two years being with TV5, Megastar Sharon Cuneta is back “home” at ABS-CBN 2. It could be remembered that back in 2012, Sharon signed a contract with the Kapatid network that was rumored to cost TV5 P1 billion.

In August 2014, TV5 ended her contract, more than two years ahead of the original contract period that was supposed to expire in 2016.  In her stay with them, she only managed to have two shows, none of which really lasted long.

This was why the Megastar was all emotional and grateful about her comeback with the Kapamilya network.  For her, it was going “home” to a place where she has been the happiest with her career.

“My transfer wasn’t based on money, although I am happy that I’m being paid a good fee,” she said, during the contract signing and press conference with ABS-CBN and her new reality show, Your Face Sounds Familiar.

Joining Sharon in the show as jury members are Mr. Pure Energy Gary Valenciano and singer Jed Madela.  They will critique the live performance of eight celebrity contestants who will impersonate popular local and international music icons in the show.

The Megastar shared that she left ABS-CBN because she had a “misunderstanding” with the network.

“I learned that I should not rely on a bridge to tell the bosses how I feel.  May tampo ako—this is the real reason I left.  I now realize that it could have been fixed,” she said.  She also added that she didn’t give the network a chance to explain.

“My tampo was a very tiny reason.  When we all sat down, I realized that what I’ve been thinking all the while was wrong.”
