AFTER all the speculations and rumors these past few weeks, Kris Aquino—known as the Queen of All Media in the Philippines—has finally confirmed that she has renewed her contract with ABS-CBN 2. She announced this last January 6, via an Instagram post:
“My manager Deo Edrinal continued talks w/ our ABS bosses during the Christmas break & it is w/ much joy that I share w/ you that we have RENEWED my ABSCBN contract.
“I am grateful to my ABS CBN bosses, Sir Gabby, Ma’am Charo, and tita Cory for the trust, value & importance they have me,” said Kris in her post.
Kris’ contract with the Kapamilya network expire October of last year, and there were various rumors that went around, including the possibility of her transferring to GMA 7. However, she denied that there were talks between the Kapuso network, adding that the only person who approached her was Manny Pangilinan, Chairman of Kapatid TV5.
The Queen of All Media of course still chose to stay with her home network, reiterating her 18 years with ABS-CBN that has opened experiences and opportunities for her to succeed as a host, entertainer and producer.

So are they or are they not an item? It’s always been a regular thing in showbiz—when couples are obviously smitten with each other but would adamantly deny that they’re “together.” Some also prefer “not to comment” or would purposely avoid the press and public eye.
But in showbusiness, (almost) nothing can be kept a secret. For now, however, here are some actors that prefer to leave us hanging:
Billy Crawford and Coleen Garcia – “I don’t think I need to speak right now.” This was TV host/singer Billy Crawford’s answer last January 8 during an interview with ABS-CBNNews.com when he was asked about the circulating photo of him and young star Coleen Garcia watching an NBA game in New York last December.
We can’t blame him though. Coleen was said to be the third party in the breakup of Billy and ex-girlfriend, singer-actress Nikki Gil last July. Apparently, “sweet” photos of Coleen and Billy surfaced a few months after, at a bar in Bacolod.
Of course, both Coleen and Billy have denied that there is something going on between the two of them. Nikki has bravely shared in her cover story in Cosmopolitan Philippines last December that she had her suspicions of Billy being unfaithful during their relationship but chose to ignore them. She however, refuses to make any further comments about Coleen and Billy.
Kim Chiu and Xian Lim – “We don’t owe you any of our personal lives.” This was what the young chinita actress said to one of the members of the media during the press conference for her new movie with loveteam (and rumored real love interest) Xian Lim, Bride For Rent, last January 7.
The question was asked by Aster Amoyo, a veteran in the showbiz community, having been an entertainment talk show host. Apparently, Aster was offended by Kim’s remark that she walked out of the press conference.
The status of Kim and Xian’s relationship has been isolated to “exclusively dating,” with no further explanation. For Kim, their personal lives are not open to questions, and added that, “…You can think naman what you think, as long as you’re happy when you watch us on TV.”
Kim, however, has quickly apologized for what most entertainment press perceived as a “snark” remark. She has been losing sleep over the walkout incident but prays it will be resolved soon.
