CONGRATULATIONS are in order for actress KC Concepcion and actor/politician ER Ejercito for bagging the Best Actress and Best Actor awards respectively at the 62nd Film Academey of Movie Arts and Sciences (better known as FAMAS) Awards last July 13 at the Grand Ballroom of Solaire Resort and Casino in Paranaque City.
The two were awarded for their roles for the under-rated movie, Boy Golden: Shoot to Kill, which was snubbed at last year’s Metro Manila Film Festival. The movie is based on the life of Arturo Porcuna, a gangster in the 1960s.
KC, overwhelmed with pride, said in her acceptance speech, “Thank God for the blessings that were disguised as challenges.”
Ousted Laguna Gov. Ejercito considered his award special, because he is the first to have won the FAMAS Best Actor award for three straight years. Ejercito previously bagged the award for Manila Kingpin: The Asiong Salonga Story in 2011, and El Presidente in 2012.
Ironically, KC’s ex-boyfriend, actor Piolo Pascual was also given the FPJ Memorial Award. His film, On The Job, also won majority of the awards including Best Picture.
