Jimmy Kimmel features and sings Pacquiao’s Tagalog song on show

Late night talk show host Jimmy Kimmel on Wednesday, April 15, featured a Tagalog song that boxing sensation Manny Pacquiao is expected to use for his ring entrance on the May 2 bout against Floyd Mayweather, Jr.
Pacquiao recorded “Lalaban Ako Para Sa Filipino (I will Fight for the Filipino)” and even created a music video for the song.

“I was listening to [the song] all day, I can’t get it out of my head,” Kimmel said after playing part of the Filipino boxer’s recording.
He then went on to request for a microphone and sang the segment he played on his show:
“Laging tinatanong sa aking isipan/Bakit kailangan husgahan ang ‘yong nararamdaman/Ano ba ang tamang batayan/Upang tayo’y pakingan.” (I often ask myself/Why be judged for what you feel?/What should be the standard? What will it take for us to be heard?)
“And that, translated in English, that means I’m going to beat Floyd Mayweather’s face, and what a pretty way to say it,” Kimmel said after singing the four lines.
Pacquiao has been a frequent visitor of Kimmel’s show and has even participated in some skits. He previously sang a duet with comedian Will Ferrell on the show of “Imagine” by John Lennon.
The showdown between Pacquiao and Mayweather will take place at the MGM Grand in Las Vegas on May 2. The fight will also be broadcast jointly by HBO Pay-Per-View and SHOWTIME PPV.
