Comedy Queen Ai-Ai delas Alas goes back to being a Kapuso when she recently signed a two-year exclusive, guaranteed contact with GMA 7.
The contract signing was happened last April 16, at the 17th floor of GMA Network and was attended by the top executives of the network headed by Chairman and CEO Atty. Felipe Gozon, President and COO Jimmy Duavit, Senior Vice President for Entertainment TV Lilybeth Rasonable and Vice President for Drama Productions.
Ai-Ai became emotional during the program, especially when Atty. Gozon said in his short message that she is his favorite comedienne.
Duavit, on the other hand shared that GMA employees were very excited when they heard Ai-Ai was arriving to formalize her return to the network.
“Lahat ng mga Kapuso natutuwa, Ai-Ai, sa iyong pagbabalik, and we look forward with great anticipation working with you again,” said Duavit.
The comedienne in return, expressed her heartfelt gratitude for the warm welcome she received from GMA.
“I have returned.
Ai-Ai’s projects with GMA include the series Let The Love Begin, one talk show with Ryzza Mae Dizon, a Sunday show and a sitcom with Vic Sotto.
The Comedy Queen started with GMA Network in 1991, through the late-night talk show RSVP, where she popularized her character Cheenie La Chicka. Later on, she became a co-host in the defunct noontime shows Lunch Date and Salu-Salo Together.
She also was part of the sitcom 1 For 3 with Vic Sotto and Rosanna Roces before she moved to ABS-CBN 2 in 1998.
