Actress Sarah Lahbati ends rift with the Kapuso network

JUST like in politics, there are no permanent friends or enemies in show business – just permanent interests.  For actress/model and Kapuso talent Sarah Lahbati and GMA Films President Annette Gozon-Abrogar, that is just what exactly came to be.

After a year of legal suits against each other, the two sides have finally settled their dispute.

Their rift began January of last year, when Sarah posted a number of accusations against Abrogar, as well as the alleged “misunderstanding” with GMA’s management arm.   Then the 20-year-old flew to Switzerland, saying that she was taking a rest from showbiz and to resume her studies.

Abrogar filed a libel case against Sarah, which led to her return to the country and to file counter charges, including libel, perjury, grave coercion and unjust vexation.  However, all charges that the actress filed have been dismissed due to lack of probable cause.

Because of the dismissal of the case, the two decided to settle their claims in a meeting at the Philippine Mediation Center.

In an interview with 24 Oras, Sarah said, “I want everyone to know that I’m really sorry, because I may have said some things before rashly, which both hurt you (referring to Abrogar) and put your integrity in question and I’m really sorry for that.  I regret things I’ve said.”

For Abrograr, she is focus on re-building her relationship with Sarah.  “Ang sinasabi ko naman palagi, ‘pag nakita ko ‘yung sincerity ni Sarah, wala na talaga lahat ng legal,” she said.   To show that she accepted the actress’ apology, the GMA executive will be filing a motion to dismiss the libel case she filed against Sarah.

Sarah also clarified that she is still a Kapuso talent, and that she is excited for future projects with her home network.  The question now when will the young actress confirm if she actually got pregnant courtesy of boyfriend, actor Richard Gutierrez, and gave birth to a baby boy last year while she was in Switzerland.  Until now, both Sarah and Richard have remained mum about the issue.  Let’s just see what comes out in the future.

Queen of All Media Kris Aquino and ex-husband PBA cager James Yap have also finally set their difference aside for the benefit of their son, Bimby.  Just last March 5, Kris announced via her Instagram account that they have reached an agreement about their son’s custody and visitation.

Posting a photo collage of her and James shaking hands, the caption read “Thank you Judge (Cristina ) Sulit, Attorney (Sigfrid) Fortun & Attorney Lorna Kapunan for the patience & guidance to help James & I reach a long term agreement regarding Bimby’s custody/visitation.

“It was a nearly 4 year journey that needed mutual healing, acceptance and maturity.   At the end of the day as parents we want Bimb to grow up feeling loved and & secure.

“James & I as a couple weren’t blessed w/ a happy ending but through God’s grace we have been given a chance to have an And They Lived Happily Ever After.  #peaceful #grateful #happy.”
