MANILA — Filipina actress Dolly de Leon has been cast as a series regular in the upcoming Apple TV+ dark comedy thriller Maximum Pleasure Guaranteed, extending a run of international roles following her breakout performance in Triangle of Sadness.
The 10-episode series is scheduled to premiere globally on May 20, 2026 on Apple TV+, with the first two episodes set for release on launch day, followed by weekly installments.
Production framework and narrative scope
Created and executive produced by David J. Rosen, the series follows Paula, portrayed by Tatiana Maslany, a fact-checker and recently divorced mother who becomes drawn into a self-initiated investigation of a suspected crime.
Studio materials describe the narrative as unfolding into a “dangerous rabbit hole” involving blackmail, murder, and youth soccer, blending suburban domestic life with an expanding criminal conspiracy.
De Leon plays Detective Gonzalez, a law enforcement figure positioned within the investigative core of the series. She appears alongside Jon Michael Hill, who portrays Detective Baxter.
A note on attribution: early trade reporting referenced the character as “Detective Sofia Gonzalez,” while current studio materials list “Detective Gonzalez.” This report reflects the most recent available credits.
Cast ensemble
The series is led by Tatiana Maslany as Paula, with Jake Johnson portraying her ex-husband Karl. The supporting cast includes Murray Bartlett, alongside Brandon Flynn, Jessy Hodges, and Charlie Hall.
From local acclaim to global roles
De Leon’s casting follows her internationally recognized performance in Triangle of Sadness, directed by Ruben Östlund, which won the Palme d’Or at the Cannes Film Festival in 2022. Her performance earned nominations from major awards bodies, including the Golden Globe and BAFTA, contributing to her transition into globally distributed productions.
Her subsequent work has included a role in the second season of Nine Perfect Strangers. Industry announcements have also linked her to the upcoming animated feature Forgotten Island, though full production details remain limited in publicly available disclosures.
