The singer and content creator has filed a court petition seeking to remove Baldivia, the legal surname of her father, actor-comedian Dennis Padilla, from her name. Padilla’s real name is Dennis Esteban Dominguez Baldivia Jr.; Dennis Padilla is his screen name.
The petition asks that Claudia’s name be changed from Claudia Isabelle Barretto Baldivia to Claudia Isabelle Barretto, according to reports citing a copy of the filing that Padilla shared publicly.
Padilla responded to the petition in a public social media post, saying he was saddened by the filing but would respect his daughter’s decision. Addressing Claudia directly, he said his love for her would not change.
The filing does not mean the name change has already been approved. In the Philippines, a change of surname generally requires court approval, and a judge must determine whether the petition meets the legal requirements.
Claudia is the daughter of Padilla and former actress Marjorie Barretto. She is also the sister of actress Julia Barretto and Leon Barretto.
Known for her music and digital work, Claudia is represented by Viva Artists Agency, which identifies her as a performer, content creator and influencer. Her released songs include “Stay,” “Finally Found It,” “Nothing To Do,” “Everything,” “Vacant” and “No Changing My Love.”
The petition has drawn attention because of the Barretto family’s long public profile in Philippine entertainment. The family has previously been the subject of public reporting over legal surname matters, including earlier proceedings involving Julia.
The petition remains pending, and no court decision has been publicly reported. Claudia has not publicly discussed the filing
