SAN DIEGO — Parks After Dark is returning to five City of San Diego recreation centers, offering free summer activities for families from June 5 through Aug. 1.
The program will run from 5 to 8 p.m. at City Heights, Linda Vista, Memorial, Skyline Hills and Silver Wing recreation centers. Events are free, and registration is not required.
The summer series includes music, entertainment, community resources, arts and crafts, inflatables, youth sports clinics, health and fitness activities, games and family programming. The San Diego Parks Foundation describes Parks After Dark as a program that turns neighborhood parks into evening hubs for activity, entertainment and connection.
The city said more than 36,000 people participated in the program last year.
Mayor Todd Gloria said Parks After Dark is part of San Diego’s broader effort to strengthen neighborhoods, invest in young people and create public spaces where residents feel connected and supported.
The program is supported by the San Diego Parks Foundation, County of San Diego, Prebys Foundation, Price Philanthropies, Feeding San Diego, city parks and recreation staff and community partners.
