Not getting enough B vitamins in your diet can cause fatigue; the last thing someone with a busy lifestyle wants. Fatigue may be caused by so many factors out of our control: environment, social, professional, and personal. And the scary thing is fatigue can continue to cause a myriad of problems from an unhealthy work environment, a decrease in the quality of output, and even an incline to be illness-prone. Amway, the world’s No. 1 direct selling company, according to the Direct Selling News Global 100*, recently launched their new Nutrilite™ B Vitamins to help fill dietary gaps to help block fatigue.
For instance, a workplace survey by Red Bull and Glassdoor found that 66% of employees surveyed are distracted by tiredness at work, causing them to make mistakes or get into accidents. Since fatigue can cause your body to have slow reaction times, you may experience a reduced attention span and increased accidents.
In Asian countries, competition at work is always high and some employees may find themselves working long hours at the office, and these extra workloads can ultimately result in fatigue. For someone always on-the-go, you might tend to reach for readily available foods regardless of their nutritional value. This means you’re not giving your body the nutrients that are supposed to help you conquer each day.
Busy adults don’t always have the leisure to eat right and may not be getting ample amounts of the vitamins they need for their body to perform at its best – like B Vitamins, which are water soluble. This means they aren’t stored in the body for a long time and needs to be replenished daily because B vitamins are essential in the formation and production of energy you need to get through each day.
A joint report by the World Health Organization and the United Nations Food and Agriculture Organization, nearly 75% of the people around the world are not meeting the minimum daily recommended serving of 400 grams or five servings of fruits and vegetables daily.
“To be at your best from the beginning of the day to the end, the time to block fatigue is before it begins and Nutrilite™ B Vitamins do just that,” said Pauline Batan, Asst. Brand Category Manager for Wellness.
“We at Amway want to help people live better lives by helping them realize their potential. You don’t have to worry about fatigue blocking you from what you want to achieve with the new Nutrilite™ B Vitamins,” said Batan.
Perfect for busy adults, The Nutrilite™ B Vitamins provides energy support to adults with only one tablet, now packed with biotin for complete essential vitamins.
Where are our B Vitamins coming from?
B vitamins are difficult to find in high concentrations in plant materials, so Nutrilite™ had to look around to try to find a good plant source and found its new hero ingredient Spirulina, a nutrient-rich, blue-green micro algae, found both in sea water and fresh water. It is rich in beta carotene, vitamin B12, and other B complex vitamins. It also contains colorful blue-green pigments – or phytonutrients – like phycocyanin and chlorophyll.
“We go to great lengths to use Spirulina in our Vitamin B supplement. Our on-going partnership through our Nutricert™ certification program is just one more example of bringing forward the best of nature and the best of science to create our premium B Vitamins supplement,” said Maria Elenita Olmedo, Amway Philippines Country Manager.
Under the Nutricert™ certification program, Spirulina is cultured and harvested at a partner facility located in the Sonoran Desert near the Salton Sea in Southern California. There, Spirulina grows vigorously in large outdoor ponds in the hot sun and high alkaline environment it needs to thrive.
Because the pH levels in these ponds are very high-alkaline, other organisms don’t thrive in this environment very well – but gives Nutrilite™ a very pure culture of Spirulina.
Warm temperatures and intense sunlight promote such rapid growth that a large percentage of each pond can be harvested every day. In the cooler months with less intense sunlight, the growth rate slows significantly. To harvest, Spirulina is simply filtered from the water, rinsed and dried. The result is a fine powder with the characteristic blue-green color.
“Because Spirulina is one of nature’s most impressive nutrient sources, we think it’s worth the effort,” said Olmedo. “Our farming partners are masters of aquatic agriculture as they look at environmental diversity, ecological balance, freedom from contamination, source traceability, and the surrounding social environment”, she said.
When it comes to getting the adequate amount of nutrition, Amway is always looking for ways to promote a healthy and active lifestyle through its products. Nutrilite™ pioneered and perfected the plant-based approach to supplementation. Nutrilite™ is the only global vitamin and mineral brand to grow, harvest, and process plants son its own certified organic farms.
