Actor Joross Gamboa said his studies of the Bible are not a step toward becoming a pastor, making clear that he has no plans to enter formal church ministry.

Gamboa addressed the matter after being asked whether his religious education could eventually lead him to the pulpit. The actor marked a graduation milestone at Global Life University in June 2025, when he announced that he had completed studies in the institution’s AB Biblical Studies program.

His growing public engagement with Christianity has prompted some followers to refer to him as a pastor. Gamboa, however, has continued to identify primarily as an actor while regularly sharing Bible-based reflections and discussions about his faith on social media.

The actor remains active in film. He is part of the cast of “Wantawsan,” director Joseph Abello’s entry in the 2026 Puregold CinePanalo Film Festival. The film also stars Rita Daniela, child actor Zion Cruz and veteran performer Raffy Tejada.

Gamboa has appeared in commercially successful films including “Hello, Love, Goodbye,” “Hello, Love, Again” and “Rewind,” building a career largely through supporting and character roles.
