TEAM PHILIPPINES SHINES AT THE 2026 WORLD CHAMPIONSHIPS OF PERFORMING ARTS

The Philippines once again proved that Filipino talent belongs on the world stage as WCOPA Team Philippines 2026 delivered an outstanding performance at the 2026 World Championships of Performing Arts (WCOPA) in Las Vegas, Nevada, USA.

Competing against delegates from more than 50 countries, the Philippine delegation brought home an impressive 334 medals and awards, including the coveted Senior Grand Champion Performer of the World title, three Performer of the World Star Trophies10 Finalist Gold Medals60 Semi-Finalist Medals86 Gold Medals79 Silver Medals58 Bronze Medals31 Overall Division Champion Plaquesfour New York Film Academy (NYFA) Scholarshipsone Millennium Dance Complex Scholarship, and Second Place for Best Production Group Performance.

This year’s triumph carries even greater significance, as the 2025 World Championships of Performing Arts was postponed due to unforeseen circumstances, requiring many of the delegates to wait an additional year before they could finally compete. Despite the delay, Team Philippines remained steadfast in its commitment, continuing to train, prepare, and persevere until the competition finally pushed through in 2026. Their achievements are a testament to the resilience, determination, and unwavering spirit of Filipino artists who refused to let adversity stand in the way of their dreams.

Under the leadership of National Director Gerry Mercado, WCOPA Team Philippines continues its tradition of developing world-class Filipino performers and providing them with opportunities to showcase their talent on the international stage. This year’s accomplishments stand as a testament not only to the delegates’ hard work and dedication but also to the unwavering commitment of Team Philippines in nurturing the next generation of globally competitive artists.
