Yasmien Kurdi is not letting online criticism take away from her law school journey.
The actress and law student responded with grace after a social media user questioned why she was posting about law school while still in the early years of the program.
The exchange came after Kurdi shared reflections from her first year of law school, including the subjects that challenged and inspired her. She mentioned Criminal Law, Constitutional Law and Obligations and Contracts among the courses that shaped her early experience.
One commenter suggested that Kurdi should wait until bar review before posting about law school. Kurdi answered calmly, reminding the commenter to enjoy the course and not let pressure take over.
For Kurdi, the posts appear to be less about showing off and more about documenting a demanding personal goal as it unfolds.
Kurdi is studying law at Arellano University, where she previously earned a bachelor’s degree in political science, graduating magna cum laude in 2019. Her return to school has drawn attention because it comes alongside a long-running entertainment career.
Kurdi first became widely known through GMA’s “StarStruck,” where she finished as First Princess in the talent search’s first season. She has since built a career as a Kapuso actress while also embracing roles as a wife, mother and student.
In earlier posts, Kurdi has connected her legal studies to a deeper interest in women’s rights and legal awareness, including laws that protect women and children.
The online exchange highlighted the pressure public figures can face when sharing personal milestones before the finish line. Kurdi’s response kept the focus on the process itself: law school is difficult, but for her, the journey is still worth sharing.
