Reno, NV – The Asian Moon Festival is an annual vibrant celebration of AANHPI culture, traditions, and heritage. Often referred to as the “Asian Thanksgiving,” this festival is rooted in the Mid-Autumn Festival, a cherished holiday celebrated across many Asian cultures. It is a time to give thanks for the harvest, reunite with family, and celebrate unity under the full moon.
The event features a variety of activities, including traditional performances like lion dances, martial arts demonstrations, and live music. Attendees can enjoy authentic Asian cuisine, browse cultural exhibits, and participate in family-friendly activities such as lantern-making and mooncake tastings. The festival also highlights the significance of the full moon, symbolizing togetherness and gratitude, making it a perfect occasion for families and friends to gather and celebrate.
In addition to celebrating cultural heritage, the Asian Moon Festival provides a unique opportunity to support local Reno AANHPI-owned businesses. The event showcases a variety of AANHPI-owned food vendors, artisans, and entrepreneurs, offering them a platform to share their products and services with the community. From traditional mooncakes and boba tea to handmade crafts and cultural goods, the festival helps boost the local economy while celebrating the diversity and creativity of Asian-owned businesses in Reno.
The Asian Moon Festival is not only a fun and educational experience but also a meaningful way to promote cultural understanding, community support, and economic inclusion in the Reno area.
This event is open to the Northern Nevada community and is free to the public.
