HANDSOME actor Dingdong Dantes has never been without a project. Acknowledged by his home network, GMA 7 as their Primetime King, his shows on the primetime block have always been certified hits.
Aside from managing his own film studio, AgostoDos Pictures, he is now focused on his new primetime series, Genesis. With its pilot episode airing just last October 14, Genesis tackles on the story about the end of the world.
Although the storyline is fiction, viewers may be able to relate to it with regards to calamities that have happened in the Philippines and the world. In fact, a day after the pilot episode, October 15, was when the tragic earthquake in Bohol happened.
Still, Dingdong insists that no matter how Genesis may portray the disasters, people would be able to pick up lessons from it. One is that we may lose all material wealth during these calamities, knowing that your family is safe is what gives you hope.
In Genesis, Dingdong portrays the role of Isaak Salvacion, a military officer whose career and romance with his great love Raquel Hernandez (portrayed by Rhian Ramos) was disrupted by treacherous circumstances. He rises anew by becoming the trusted ally of the Philippine President Sandra Trinidad (played by Lorna Tolentino) and was heading the crucial mission, Operation: Genesis.
Other stars featured in Genesis are TJ Trinidad as the oppressive Paolo de Guzman, Jackie Lou Blanco as the cruel former president Ramona Escalabre, Irma Adlawan, Ronnie Henares, Carlo Gonzalez, Betong sumaya, Luane Dy, Sasha Baldoza, Rainier Gison, and Annette Samin.
The series also features the special participation of veteran and rising performers Robert Arevalo, Bembol Roco, Gardo Versoza, Snooky Serna, Sharmaine Centenera-Buencamino, Mark Anthony Fernandez, Angel Aquino, Pauleen Luna, Lauren Young, Lito Legaspi, and actress-filmmaker Laurice Guillen.
