One of the most sought-after tandem of Daniel Padilla and Kathryn Bernardo returns to the big screen via their romantic movie, “Barcelona: A Love Untold,” under Star Cinema.
The popularity of Daniel and Kathryn has never been in question, especially with movie hits like “She’s Dating the Gangster” and “Crazy Beautiful You.” They also just finished doing the successful remake of the teleserye, “Pangako Sa ‘Yo.”
Their first movie with director Olivia M. Lamasan, Kathryn and Daniel shared their experiences while shooting the film in where, else — Barcelona, Spain.
“Siguro naging masaya ‘yung nakilala din namin ang Pilipino doon. ‘Yung mga nagtratrabaho doon na nakasama namin na tumulong sa amin pagtapos ng mga eksena namin sa Barcelona (“We think one of the happy moments was getting to know the Filipinos there. Those who are working there and were with us to help finish the scenes we were filming in Barcelona),” said both Daniel and Kathryn during the press conference for the movie.
Daniel added that “direk Olivia” or “Inang,” has taught them to be humble and grounded. “…Kasi walang star-star, hindi pwede star doon,” he said.
Kathryn mentioned that direk Olivia pushed them to bring all their acting skills to the test in the movie.
“Parang wala, dito talaga all out talaga. Pag si Inang talaga, parang hindi namin alam kung paano niya napapalabas yung emotion na kailangan kahit gaano ka simple or gaano ka bigat yung scene (It was really all out. If it’s Inang, we don’t know how she does it, how she manages to take out the emotion that you need no matter how simple or complex the scene is), she said.
“Barcelona” is a story that revolves around the love between Ely (Daniel) and Mia (Kathryn), but also taps on the live of overseas Filipino workers.
Joining Kathryn and Daniel in the movie are Aiko Melendez, Ana Capri, Joshua Garcia, Joey Marquez, Liza Dino, Ricky Davao, and Cris Villanueva. “Barcelona” will be shown in movie theatres on September 14.
