It’s your turn – the county wants input on future infrastructure needs

IF you’d like a say on county projects like sidewalks, fire stations, Live Well centers and libraries, here’s your chance.

The county is holding meetings to get your feedback on needed improvements and future facilities.

Each year, the county reviews and revises its forecast of planned and potential capital projects to ensure that they are taking care of aging infrastructure. But it also wants to address any emerging issues or needs.

The Department of Public Works will host meetings involving community infrastructure projects like county-maintained roads, bridges, storm drains, sidewalks and more.

These are typically in the unincorporated areas, outside of the region’s 18 cities.

A separate meeting will address the county’s overall Capital Plan which includes the facilities and infrastructure located throughout the region – the unincorporated areas and the 18 cities.

They involve things like the Live Well centers, libraries, county administration buildings, recreation centers, Sheriff’s stations and the purchase of land to build parks.

You can find out what’s already underway in your community and give your input on what may be needed in the future.

A Public Works meeting took place Thursday, Oct. 19 at the Valley Center Library in the North County.

You’re also invited to a virtual session on Public Works projects on Wednesday, Nov. 1., from 6 to 7:30 p.m.

A virtual workshop on the Capital Plan projects is scheduled from 6 to 7:30 p.m. on Thursday, Oct. 26.
