New Philippine Tourism Representative in Los Angeles Assumes Post

LOS ANGELES – Gerard “Gerry” O. Panga has formally assumed his post as the new Tourism Representative of the Philippine Department of Tourism (DOT) at the Philippine Consulate General in Los Angeles.

His assignment marks a strategic push to invigorate tourism promotion and engagement with the Filipino-American community and U.S. travelers across the Western United States.

Panga brings more than three decades of experience in tourism and destination marketing. Before arriving in Los Angeles, he served as the Philippine Tourism Attaché in London, where he managed the DOT’s initiatives in the United Kingdom and across Europe. His areas of expertise include international travel promotion, event marketing, and product development.

Now based in one of the most dynamic regions for overseas Filipinos, Panga is expected to strengthen partnerships with airlines, tour operators, and community stakeholders.

His leadership aligns with the DOT’s broader efforts to meet its 2025 goal of attracting 7.7 million international visitors to the Philippines.

The Philippine Consulate General, led by Consul General Adelio Angelito S. Cruz, welcomed Panga and expressed support for his mission to advance Philippine tourism and build stronger cultural and economic ties with the U.S. travel market.
