CERRITOS, Calif. — The Largest LA County UbeFest returned for its second annual celebration on April 11–12, 2026, drawing an estimated 100,000 attendees over the two-day weekend and transforming Cerritos into a vibrant hub of culture, food, entertainment, and community pride.
“LA County UbeFest became more than a food and entertainment festival — it stood as a vibrant celebration of community, culture, and economic vitality in Cerritos,” said Cerritos Mayor Lynda Johnson, the first Filipina mayor of Cerritos. “Its growth into a two-day event reflected how gatherings like this can honor heritage, uplift small businesses, and create meaningful experiences for residents and visitors alike.”

Expanded into a two-day event for the first time, LA County UbeFest brought together families, friends, and visitors from across Southern California for a festive weekend that celebrated Filipino culture and the beloved purple yam, ube, while also generating a strong economic boost for Cerritos and the surrounding region.
Organized by the Filipino American Chamber of Commerce of Cerritos (FAC3) and UbeFest LLC, with support from the City of Cerritos, the event was held in the outdoor area of the Cerritos Center for the Performing Arts. The larger venue provided more space for guests to explore and enjoy the festival’s growing lineup of food, shopping, and entertainment.

More than 150 vendors participated in the event, making it the largest LA County UbeFest to date. Attendees enjoyed a wide variety of ube-inspired creations, from sweet desserts to savory specialties, along with many other food offerings, merchandise booths, giveaways, and interactive attractions. The festival not only showcased Filipino flavors and creativity, but also created meaningful business opportunities for vendors, increased visitor activity in the area, and contributed to the local and regional economy through spending on food, retail, transportation, and nearby businesses.

As a true community event, LA County UbeFest brought people together in a welcoming atmosphere that highlighted culture, entrepreneurship, and shared celebration. Organizers also tapped Ted Benito to lead the programming, helping bring together a lively and well-curated entertainment lineup throughout the weekend.
Various artists added fun and excitement to the celebration, keeping the energy high and the crowd engaged. Adding even more character and charm to the festival grounds were iconic jeepneys and tricycles, which delighted attendees and contributed to the festive visual experience and cultural touch of the event.

Entertainment remained one of the festival’s major highlights. Featured guests and performers included Iron Chef Mark Dacascos; The Filharmonic, the Los Angeles-based a cappella group known for its appearance on NBC’s The Sing-Off; Erik Escobar, the Mexipino stand-up comedian known for his sharp wit and crowd-pleasing humor; and Fil-Am singer and actress Jules Aurora. They were joined by other talented local performers who helped make the weekend a lively and memorable celebration from start to finish.
With its record turnout, expanded programming, and strong support for small businesses, LA County UbeFest 2026 stood out as more than a festival—it was a major cultural and community gathering that celebrated Filipino heritage while delivering a positive economic impact to Cerritos and the broader region.
