Private Screening of Filipino Indie Film What You Did Brings Spotlight to Independent Cinema and Mental Health Awareness

Los Angeles, CA – What You Did, an acclaimed psychological thriller from the Philippines, will have a private screening at the Laemmle Theatre in Glendale on March 16, bringing together film enthusiasts and prominent Filipino-Americans in the entertainment industry.

The film, written and directed by Joan Lopez-Flores, was a finalist at the 2024 Sinag Maynila Film Festival and has garnered attention for its compelling narrative. Set during the pandemic, the film is about the challenges people face after experiencing setbacks in life. Filipino-American actor Tony Labrusca, who takes on two complex characters in the film, will be in attendance. Based in the Philippines, Labrusca has been recognized for his powerful performance, earning a Best Actor nomination for the role. He has expressed that What You Did is among his most challenging roles, highlighting its emotional depth and international appeal.

This private screening underscores the growing presence of Filipino independent cinema in the global film landscape and its ability to tell universal yet deeply personal stories.
