LOS ANGELES – Consul General Leo Herrera-Lim paid a courtesy call on Mayor Mark Pulido at Cerritos City Hall on April 30.
The two officials discussed political dynamic mix in Cerritos City and how to develop Filipino-American entrepreneurship. They further discussed the prospect of identifying a City in the Philippines that can forge a sister-city relationship with the City of Cerritos.
Consul General Herrera-Lim took the opportunity inviting Mayor Pulido to join 9th Ambassadors/Consuls General and Tourism Directors Tour with the basic tour beginning from 28 to 31 July 2014. He assured of the Consulate’s support for the future projects of Cerritos City. Meanwhile, Mayor Pulido informed the Consul General of the City’s plan to celebrate this year’s Philippine Independence Day.
Mayor Pulido is the first Filipino-American to be elected as Mayor of the City of Carson. According to data from the 2010 US Census, 14.6 percent (about 7,155) of the population in the City of Cerritos are of Filipino descent.
