PCG-LA concludes overseas voting for PH 2013 mid-term elections

LOS ANGELES – The Philippine Consulate General closed the overseas voting period at 4am on May 13 and immediately thereafter counted the votes.  The Consulate activated nine (9) election precincts which counted 3,628 ballots that it received at the end of the voting period.  The unofficial results showed the top 12 as follows:

Escudero – 2,599

Cayetano – 2,519

Poe – 2,467

Legarda – 2,330

Magsaysay, Jr. – 2,317

Pimentel – 2,288

Angara – 2,076

Aquino “Bam” – 2,075

Hontiveros – 1,819

Gordon – 1,794

Trillanes – 1,727

Zubiri – 1,415

For Party-List the top three (3) are: The OFW Family Club (313 votes), the Senior Citizens (244 votes) and Citizen’s Battle Against Corruption CIBAC (182) received the highest votes under its jurisdiction.

Consul General De La Vega conveyed her gratitude to voters who participated in this political exercise, noting that this year’s no. of voters represent a 1679.63% increase compared to the 216 voters who cast their ballots in the 2007 midterm elections.  Consul General De La Vega also thanked the print and broadcast media in Post jurisdiction for helping the Consulate disseminate information during the overseas voting campaign in Southern California, Southern Nevada, Arizona, New Mexico and Texas.

The public may view the overseas voting results of the nine (9) precincts, which are now posted at the Consulate premises until Friday, May 17 2013.
