“Meet the Prez” is hosted by the UP Alumni of Greater Los Angeles
The University of the Philippines Alumni Association of Greater Los Angeles (UPAAGLA) will welcome current UP President Fred Pascual on July 5th at 6pm for a casual get together in this non-exclusive, open-invitation event.
“Meet the Prez” allows UPAAGLA to report on its fundraising efforts to help deserving students through its Scholarship fund. UPAAGLA currently has two students on full scholarship and desires to help more students, especially in the wake of the Haiyan calamity in Leyte.
UPAAGLA, a 401-C3 non-profit, has been diligently raising funds through direct donations, members’ special events, and Arts Performances such as the very successful celebration of the UP Madrigal Singers 50th anniversary “All Together Now!” at the Ford Amphitheatre in 2013.
Pres. Pascual has also expressed desire to meet more UP Alumni now-based in the United States. The event aims to be an exchange of information between the University and its US-based alumni., and other parties who may be interested in networking with the University of the Philippines.
Everyone is welcome to “Meet the Prez” on July5th, a Saturday at 6pm. Refreshments will be served, and artists from another fundraising event for UPAAGLA will be performing as a special treat. Representing “Serenata Filipina” on August 17 at the Ford Amphitheatre are exemplary talents Mon David, Annie Nepomuceno, Lara Avengoza and Louise Marie Cornillez.
