LAS VEGAS, NV [July 11, 2025] Ron Sumbang has been appointed as Liaison to Clark County by a unanimous vote on July 15, 2025 by the officers and board of Directors of Filipino Town Las Vegas (FTLV).
A current board member of FTLV, Ron brings with him a deep commitment to community engagement, advocacy, and service to the Filipino American community of Las Vegas. In this new role, Ron will serve as a vital bridge between FTLV and Clark County, specifically the office of Clark County Commissioner Chairman Tick Segerblom and the Department of Administrative Services, helping to communicate FTLV’s initiatives, and continuing to strengthen relationships.
“I humbly accept the responsibility,” said Ron Sumbang. “Filipino Town Las Vegas will continue on the mandate by Clark County to help promote the Filipino culture and traditions for future generations to enjoy and as a sense of identity; encourage and support for more Filipino owned business to thrive; and lastly, hopefully to enjoin all communities and others in honoring deserving Filipinos for their contributions to the entire community each and every anniversary date of the Filipino Town. ABOUT FILIPINO TOWN LAS VEGAS
Clark County approved the cultural designation for Filipino Town Las Vegas on April 15, 2025, ending a 9-month long application process which included public town hall meetings and several hearings in front of the Clark County Board of Commissioners.
Filipino Town Las Vegas cultural designation is along Maryland Parkway between Flamingo Road and Desert Inn Road. The area is home to some of the most recognized Filipino retail, restaurant and medical and professional brands.
Filipino Town Las Vegas is the official organization which had been working with Clark County through the Office of Commissioner Chairman Segerblom starting from the application, the entire process for approval, as well as after approval of the Cultural Designation of the Filipino Town.
The unveiling of the sign markers for Filipino Town has been scheduled for October 9, 2025 in partnership with Clark County.
