The Knights of Columbus, St. Genevieve Council 14772, “2010 California State Best Council” in Panorama City, CA, had conducted the “Blessing of Family Reunion” held in Madonna Hall on April 13, 2013. It was a great success. The St. Genevieve Parish Church and Knights of Columbus conveyed their thanks to all families who attended the celebration, commemorating its two years implementation of the Vocations Prayer Program, especially to the families who had participated to this program. The occasion was the blessing of the families praying for vocations and guest families, dinner and dance. After the sumptuous dinner, Rev. Fr. Alden Sison, Chaplain/Pastor of the St. Genevieve Church, “Blessed” all the families and gave out certificates “A Prayer for Families” to all families who were present in this momentous event.
The St. Genevieve Council14772 had initiated the Vocation Prayer Program on January 9, 2011. The program started every Sunday during the 9:30 A.M, 11:00 A.M. & 2:00 P.M. (Spanish Mass) up to now and at 5:00 P.M. every Saturday, coming soon. It has been making tremendous impact and awareness to all the parishioners of the St. Genevieve Church as three families every week are being blessed by the Presiding Priests at the altar, in front of the whole congregation before the final blessing of the Mass. Since its inception, 345 families had already taken home the Holy Family Icons every week and prayed daily for vocations to the priesthood and religious life using the prayers and video, given by the church. Two Brother Knights of St. Genevieve Council 14772 are discerning to become priests; namely, Bro. Patrick Ayala and Bro. Leonardo Torres.
Most importantly, all families are cordially invited to participate in the Vocations Prayer Program by taking home for one week the Holy Family Icon from the St. Genevieve Catholic Church.
