RIVERSIDE—Dr. Jin Park, a successful dentist, has made accomplishments in his entire professional career through the years. Born in South Korea, Jin moved to the United States at the age of 14. During high school years, he became interested in medical field through the influence of his cousin. Jin finished with a bachelor’s degree in molecular cell biology in 1997 at University of California, Berkeley and obtained his Doctor of Dental Science degree at New York University College of Dentistry in 2003.
Dr. Park went into hospital residency training at Maimonides Medical Center in New York from 2003-2004 and obtained his dentistry licensure. He worked as an associate dentist in a private clinic for 9 years. Since 2011, he has been practicing his dentistry at St. Jude Medical Center in Fullerton, Calif.
In March 2013, Dr. Jin’s Dental Care was established in Riverside, Calif. that offers “a friendly and dedicated staff that all patients will feel comfortable with,” the website further says. Dr. Park’s clinic provides several dental services.
“We provide dental restoration (for repairing damaged teeth), root canal treatment, extraction, fixed prosthesis, and many more,” Dr. Park said.
Dr. Park shared the Asian Journal about his work motivation and satisfaction to the patients.
“There are many motivating factors like reputation, monetary reward and others. The smile on patient’s face is the best factor. Smiling at patient’s face show satisfaction, knowing their oral hygiene has improved or their oral pain has been taken care of. I enjoy doing the work of dentistry,” the dentist said.
“I like the feeling of making a difference on patient’s oral condition. Although some patients may get grossed out when seeing poor oral hygiene with severe tartar and plague build up with bleeding gum, I really enjoy cleaning their teeth and looking at patients’ smiles (when they look at their clean teeth in the mirror that they haven’t seen for years),” he added.
Dr. Park also told to the Asian Journal about working relationship with the Filipino community.
“When I used to work in Queens, New York, I had the great chance of working in a clinic where more than half of patient pools were Filipino patients and about half of staffs were from the Philippines. I felt comfortable with their good personalities. I would like to continue interacting with them, as well as treating their dental needs,” Dr. Park said.
