ON May 31, two birthdays, attended by almost 300 guests, were celebrated. The day began at noon with a birthday celebration for 7-year-old Gaston Soriano, the son of Andrew and Dr. Josefina Robles-Soriano at their 1887 Victorian Mansion in Orange County. Gaston’s party was full of fun with Gaston rendering a song, games, tricks, and birthday cake.
At 5pm, Dr. Josefina was busy entertaining Gaston’s guests until their close friends, patients, relatives and guests started singing “Happy Birthday.” The program began with a short “Welcome” by Andy Soriano, invocation, and then performances by Christine Love, Christine/Andrew duet, Chenza Puno, Gaston Soriano, love song by Andy Soriano, and dancing. Boyd Elston provided the music.
At the end of the program, Dr. Josefina and her guests were so surprised when Martin Nievera, the Concert King of the Philippines, showed up and treated everyone to a concert and a special duet performed by Martin and friend, Andy Soriano. The celebrant and her guests were screaming and jumping for joy, and extremely in awe with Martin Nievera’s surprised appearance and excellent performance. He made Dr. Josefina feel very special on her birthday. The guests were given an opportunity to have their photos taken with Martin. It was a very special, entertaining and memorable evening for everyone, especially to the birthday celebrant.
Dr. Josefina L. Robles Soriano has been a practicing dentist in California since 1987. She graduated with a degree in Dentistry from the University of the Philippines.
In 1994, she became a fellow of the Academy of General Dentistry (AGD). In 2004, she achieved the highest award in the AGD, the prestigious “MASTERSHIP AWARD”. Only one percent of the general practitioner population in the US have achieved this goal. California has 192 actively practicing Masters out of 21,000 general dentists.
Aside from being an accomplished dentist, Josefina is a talented watercolor and oil Painter. Her artworks have appeared in publications including the Orange County Register, Philippine News, Asian Journal, Phil-Am Gazette, Impressions and the International Art Magazine, to name a few. She has exhibited her paintings locally, nationally, and has joined several competitions.
