The administration of Philippine President Rodrigo Duterte will double its efforts to improve the plight of Filipinos, Presidential Spokesperson Harry Roque Jr. said on Sunday, April 22.
After seeing a drop from in the satisfaction ratings of Duterte’s Cabinet, Malacañang assured that the executive branch will continue to serve the “best interest” of the public without getting distracted by the political noise.
The latest Social Weather Station (SWS) survey results showed that the ratings for the Duterte’s Cabinet went down by 10 points from +38 in the last quarter of 2017 to +28 in the first quarter of 2018,
“This is the lowest in almost two years, since the moderate +22 in April 2016,” SWS said.
Decreases that made up the drop from “good” to “moderate” satisfaction ratings involve all areas: a decline of 29 points in Mindanao, seven points in Balance Luzon, two points in Visayas, and a point in Metro Manila.
The net satisfaction rating of the Cabinet remained “good” in Metro Manila at +30 from the +31 in the previous quarter. It also stayed “good” in the Visayas at +31 from +32.
However, it fell by two grades from “very good” to “moderate” in Mindanao at +23 from +52 in the last quarter of 2017; and one grade from “good to “moderate” in Balance Luzon at +28 from +35.
In a statement, Malacañang noted that many agencies have made significant strides in their respective areas and fields.
“The departments under the executive branch will continue to serve the nation and the best interest of our people by bringing comfortable life to disadvantaged and marginalized families, unmindful of the distraction and political noise,” Roque said.
He continued: “We shall therefore work double time in highlighting policies and programs of the current administration that have the most impact to the lives of our countrymen.”
The results of the first quarter-2018 satisfaction poll was released on Friday, April 20.
It was taken from March 23 to 27 using face-to-face interviews to 1,200 adults nationwide. The poll had sampling error margins of ±3 percent for national percentages, and ±6 percent each for Metro Manila, Balance Luzon, Visayas, and Mindanao.
