Marcos begins official visit to Washington, D.C.

WASHINGTON, D.C. – President Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr. arrived at Joint Base Andrews on Sunday, July 20, 2025, beginning his official visit to the United States at the invitation of U.S. President Donald Trump.

This visit marks the first meeting between an ASEAN Head of State and President Trump since his return to office in January. The meeting underscores the renewed commitment to strengthening U.S.-Philippine relations amid evolving regional dynamics.

The two leaders are expected to hold formal discussions at the White House, with talks centering on expanded cooperation in trade, economic development, and regional security.
