CERRITOS, CA — The City of Cerritos has appointed Gloria Perlas Pulido as the new Chair of the Cerritos Planning Commission, ushering in a new chapter of community-driven leadership for one of the city’s most influential civic bodies. Pulido, a longtime Cerritos resident and public servant, brings to her role a deep-rooted passion for thoughtful urban planning and civic engagement.
The Cerritos Planning Commission is a five-member advisory board appointed by the City Council. It is responsible for reviewing zoning applications, subdivision and parcel maps, environmental impact reports, and development projects. The Commission also advises the Council on updates to the General Plan and Development Code, and serves as the final review authority for residential design.
A Steward of Community Growth
Gloria Perlas Pulido is no stranger to public service. As a longtime Cerritos resident and community advocate, she has consistently supported educational, cultural, and civic initiatives throughout the city. She is married to Mark Pulido, a former two-time Mayor and longtime Cerritos City Councilmember, who returned to elected office in 2025. The Pulidos have raised their family in Cerritos and have long championed programs that strengthen local communities.
Gloria’s appointment to Chair reflects her own leadership, independent of her husband’s well-established public service career. Known for her thoughtful and inclusive approach, she now leads the commission at a time when Cerritos continues to evolve amidst regional housing demands, sustainability goals, and commercial development opportunities.
