SOME people just have it all—beauty, brains and personality—plus the fame and fortune that come with having all three. But if the bearer of “all things beautiful” is as lovely and kind as this lady, I guess the ‘perks’ are thrown at the right person.
Liza Soberano is one of the most sought-after stars of her generation. Even as a total standout among her peers, she is very amiable and her simplicity just makes her even more attractive.
I admire her beauty and style; and apparently, I am not the only one.
Soberano placed 6th in the 26th annual Independent Critics List of the 100 Most Beautiful Faces 2015.
The half-American, half-Filipina actress was born in Santa Clara, California to Filipino father John Castillo Soberano and American mother Jacquelyn Elizabeth Hanley. She moved to the Philippines at the age of 10 to be with her father and relatives. She started as a print ad model at age 12 and was discovered by a talent scout when she was 13.
Soberano received her first leading role in the romantic comedy television series “Forevermore” in 2014 alongside Enrique Gil.
The “Serena Marquesa” of Dolce Amore
After the success of “Forevermore,” which birthed the loveteam, “LizQuen” (Liza Soberano and Enrique Gil), Soberano graces the TV screens again as she plays the role of Serena Marquesa in the top-rated primetime series, “Dolce Amore.”
Soberano plays the Filipina who was adopted by a rich Italian man as an infant. Despite being raised as a ‘princess,’ she longs for a simple life, which her adopted mother disapproves. In an attempt to escape her arranged marriage to her best friend, she travels to the Philippines to search for a young billionaire who can save her family’s company. While staying in the Philippines, she meets Tenten (played by Enrique Gil) by accident. He soon reveals that he was her childhood pen-pal.
The plot of “Dolce Amore” is the opposite of what “Forevermore” had. In “Forevermore,” their roles were reversed: Gil played the son of rich hoteliers, while Soberano came from a strawberry-farming family.
“Dolce Amore” is now on its third season and is set to end in three weeks.
“LIZ” in the LizQuen loveteam
Not only is LizQuen one of the most popular love teams today, they also have the chemistry every tandem dream of. Soberano and Gil were already friends before they got paired up by their TV network. Incidentally, they have the same handler at Star Magic, which brought them even closer.
As their friendship got “deeper and better,” according to Gil, their chemistry became more real on and off screen.
While Gil has openly admitted his intentions of courting Soberano, they both agree that being friends for now is better for them professionally and personally. Their “status” may have been interpreted as an ‘open door’ by Soberano’s admirers.
Just recently, Grammy-nominated performer Charlie Puth admitted to having a crush on Soberano, as he talks about her during his concert. Puth invited Soberano to his concert but the latter wasn’t able to make it. Last January, British pop band The Vamps lead guitarist James McVey gave a special shoutout to the Filipino actress. McVey told ABS-CBN News in an interview, “Liza, if you’re watching, I’ll sing to you tomorrow at the show.”
The newest Maybelline girl
Bold, empowered, and confident – this is what Maybelline New York is all about. Qualities you can certainly find in Liza Soberano which makes her the perfect fit for Maybelline.
On August 3, Maybelline New York officially announced their newest endorser. This marks Soberano’s first global beauty label endorsement. She officially joins the ranks of Gigi Hadid, Jourdan Dunn, Emily Didonato, and more.
“I believe that girls should be confident innately, and makeup helps because it gives them the extra boost that they need,” shares Liza, who reveals that confidence is her ultimate beauty secret.
Through the years, Liza has risen to become one of the most iconic teen stars in the Philippine industry with contracts and starring roles she can barely count. As the perks of being Liza Soberano continues to pile up, she never stops showing her gratitude and love to her fans and supporters. And while being a “Serena,” “Liz” and Maybelline Girl comes with great responsibility, it certainly comes with so much fun that she ought to enjoy more than anyone.
To Liza, more blessings to you. Keep up the good work, you make us all proud!
