Legendary Queen of Philippine Movies Susan Roces heads the list of July celebrities celebrating their birthdays in the glorious month of July. She turns 80 years old on Wednesday, July 28.

SUSAN Roces, the original and legendary Queen of Philippine Movies, heads the roster of July birthday celebrants this summer. Inday Susan, as she is called by her close relatives and friends, celebrates her 79th birthday on Wednesday, July 28. Madam Roces is the widow of the late and undisputed King of Philippine Movies Fernando Poe Jr.

Susan is one of the most enduring actresses in Philippine film and television, having starred in countless films, starting with 1952’s “Mga Bituin ng Kinabukasan.” She is a multi-awarded actress, earning nods in the FAMAS Awards for “Maligno,” “Gumising Ka…Maruja” and “Huwarang Bituin.” She is also the recipient of the FAMAS Lifetime Achievement Award in 2017. Two years earlier, in 2015, she received a special award from the same awards-giving body, the Iconic Movie Queen of Philippine Cinema.

Most recently, Susan plays a main, recurring role as Flora “Lola Kap” Borja-de Leon in the popular series “FPJ’s Ang Probinsiyano.”
