Nevada Health Link to Attend 20+ Community Events in October to Raise Awareness Ahead of Open Enrollment Period

CARSON CITY, Nev. (Oct 1, 2025): This October, Nevada Health Link’s navigators/assisters will be out in the community at over 20 events sharing health insurance information ahead of the Open Enrollment Period, which begins on November 1, 2025, and runs through January 15, 2026. Navigator/assister entities provide free assistance and are primarily responsible for outreach and education for Nevada’s uninsured and underinsured populations. Navigators are available to answer enrollment questions and provide unbiased explanations of the Qualified Health and Dental Plans available through NevadaHealthLink.com.

“Ensuring all Nevadans have access to affordable, quality health care is our top priority,” said Rosa Alejandre, Navigator Program Manager at Nevada Health Link. “By sponsoring and tabling at community events, we are bringing valuable resources and support to neighborhoods across the state and meeting individuals right where they are. We encourage those who may be in need of health insurance to visit a Nevada Health Link table, learn more about their health coverage options, and take advantage of the free assistance available to all Nevadans.”

Below are several community events that Nevada Health Link navigators will be at throughout the coming month:

  • Family Health Festival – Oct. 8 | 3 to 6 p.m. | Neil Road Recreation Center, 3925 Neil Rd., Reno, NV 89502; join local health and community organizations at the Family Health Festival, presented by United Way. Attendees can explore resources that support a healthier lifestyle.

  • Children’s Museum of Northern Nevada Trunk-or-Treat – Oct. 17 | 4 to 7 p.m. | 813 N. Carson St, Carson City, NV 89701; a family-friendly event offering Halloween fun, complete with trick-or-treating, activities, and community resource booths.

  • Las Vegas Pride Community Festival – Oct.18 | 3 to 10 p.m. | Desert Breeze Events Center, 8455 Kids Zone Pkwy, Las Vegas, NV 89147; celebrate diversity at the Las Vegas Pride Festival. Nevada Health Link will be there to connect with attendees while celebrating the LGBTQIA+ community with music, food, and local organizations.

  • Springs Preserve’s Haunted Harvest – Oct. 23-26 | 6 to 8:30 p.m. | Spring Preserve, 333 S Valley View Blvd, Las Vegas, NV 89107; enjoy a family-friendly Halloween event with trick-or-treat stations, food trucks, and local resources for families.

  • The Boys & Girls Club of Fernley’s 5th Annual Trunk or Treat – Oct. 30 | 5 to 7 p.m. | Fernley Clubhouse (CRRC), 695 E Main St, Fernley, NV, 89408; a festive trunk-or-treat event with games, food, and live music, hosted by the Boys & Girls Club of Fernley.

  • Springs Preserve’s Nevada Day Celebration – Oct. 31 | 9 a.m. – 4 p.m. | Spring Preserve, 333 S Valley View Blvd, Las Vegas, NV 89107; Iin honor of Nevada Day, Nevada residents receive free entry to the Springs Preserve with a valid ID. Nevada Health Link and other community partners will be present to offer information and assistance.
