BEAUCON MANILA: ICONIC CELEBRATION OF FILIPINO BEAUTY – PROUD AND TRENDING

THE MAKING.

United by their passion for beauty., three millennials who were close friends since high school Liz Tan, Jhomel Tiu, and John Louie Kiocho, embarked on a transformative journey Their shared love for exploring international and local beauty brands led them to come up with an idea where all of their favorites are gathered in one roof. They’ve dreamt of staging a beauty event of vibrant halls and a plethora of beauty enthusiasts – from all walks of life, all ages, all gender, consumer, and even enterprising individuals enjoying and engaging all about beauty just like one, united community.

Last year, September 2023 – the first ever BeauCon Manila was held in SM Megatrade Hall 3. With only a handful of team members to pull it through, they were able to put together more than 30 local online brands while beyond 5,000 visitors witnessed and experienced their favorite brands, celebrities, and influencers with millions of reach and engagement through various social media platforms.

This year, BeauCon Manila will mark another beautiful history by showcasing more than 70 mainstream and digital beauty brands – united in one exhibition, together with one vision.

BRANDS UNITED: Taking Filipino Beauty to the Next Level

 BeauCon Manila, born out of the collective enthusiasm and shared experiences of the founding team, stands as an exposition dedicated to celebrating the diversity and richness of Filipino culture. It serves as a platform where beauty brands converge to showcase their innovations, their inspiring stories, their winning moments – ALL PROUD AND TRENDING  to  connect with a wider and broader audience but still provide a space for each and every one to triumph and shine.

At the heart of BeauCon Manila is the passionate mission to uplift and amplify the Filipino beauty industry and be able to advocate inclusivity, diversity, and a deep appreciation to the artistry, creativity, and craftsmanship behind Filipino beauty brands.

Last July 24 in Quezon City, indeed, an iconic event transpired when BeauCon Manila, together with CEOs of top and trending beauty brands, beauty experts and influencers, and friends from the press people – literally get united to make a stand – take the Filipino Beauty Community to the Level!

First segment introduces the beautiful minds behind the BeauCon Manila:

The second segment entitled, ‘A TESTIMONY TO FILIPINO BEAUTY INDUSTRY TRANSCENDING TO THE NEXT LEVEL’ acknowledges beauty experts of the Filipino beauty industry. The panel included beauty influencers who have been in the industry more than 5 years. Here, they shared their views and insights on how the beauty industry have elevated from the time have started blogging for beauty brands.

QUEL PALOMO: Social Media Influencer in Youtube, Instagram and TikTok. Content creator for 5 years specializing in experiential know how on beauty and skin care products especially on local brands.

 MJ GARCIA PEREZ:  Beauty Blogger, Founder of VanityFriends, the biggest skincare community on Facebook here in the Philippines which has more than Php150k active members and followers. 10 years in the beauty blogging industry,  started thru www.vanityroomph.com since 2014

 MARTHA STA. BARBARA: Content Creator The Beauty Junkee, for 15 years specializing in beauty and lifestyle content and aims to empower consumers with one review at a time.

Finally, the last and much-anticipated segment ‘GAME CHANGERS OF THE FILIPINO BEAUTY INDUSTRY’ introduces the Beauty CEOs of the local beauty community.

PANDEMIC may have left a lasting wound that has changed the world forever. It left unpleasant memories in the human history, but on the brighter side of things, beautiful things have also emerged.

It sparked tremendous growth in the e-commerce industry and changed exponentially the shopping behaviors of the market. In an unprecedented turnout of events, local beauty brands grew and flourish giving birth to BEAUTY CEOs – Local Beauty Magnates, Local Beauty GAME CHANGERS, Local Beauty ICONS!

The powerhouse cast are:

RIZZA LANA SEBASTIANCEO and Founder, Mink PH

Rizza is a serial entrepreneur who co-owns 11 brands within 9 different industries that focuses on mindful products and services that takes care of you and the planet. Some of which are skincare and body care brands – Lana and Mink PH.

Mink PH, one of her cult brands is a specialty intimate skin care line that aims to provide care solutions to common body needs and problems.

SARAH VIDI-PAYNO-MERCADO – CEO, Queen White Skin Care Products

Founded in March 2018, Sarah Vidi Payno-Mercado which hails from Binan, Laguna and started out as branch manager of a convenience store, began with the dream of offering high-quality and effective skin care products at budget-friendly prices. She also aims to provide a source of income for thousands of Filipinos nationwide with its distribution business model. Her brand Queen White is now home to more than 1,500 Kwinderas (Queen White resellers and distributors)

JOHANNA VALERIO – Marketing Director, Yo Joe Health and Beauty (Yo Joe) representing Ms Jhoana Erica Fuster, Brand Owner

Founded in December 2023, Yo Joe Health and beauty is dedicated to provide health and beauty solutions that promotes holistic wellness and empowering individuals to embrace their natural beauty. Through its innovative products, they strive to inspire confidence and foster a community where self-care is celebrated.

 JUNGIE GUMIRAN – CEO, JUJU Health and Wellness (JUJU Collagen products)

JUJU is a business founded in 2020 during the pandemic. It’s a self-care brand by an entrepreneur – Jungie Gumiran. As a busy entrepreneur, he finds it hard to stick to a skin care routine. The ‘hugot’ of the brand is to create products and supplements that would work for busy entrepreneurs like him.

The four Beauty CEOs who were in the press launch (from left to right – Rizza, Sarah, Joyce, and Jungie) shared their humble beginnings, struggles as a brand owner, their business mantra, milestones and achievements, and even gamely and bravely answered some funny and witty pageant-like questions.

Coming from the business of selling luxury bags, Anna Magkawas ventured into the health and wellness industry during pandemic. Now, her Luxe Group of Companies is home to 3 brands – Luxe Skin, Luxe Slim, and Luxe Cosmetics.

MARIA RIZELLE RUGAY-VILLANUEVA (Ms. Mariz Villanueva) – Chief Executive Officer, Vielka Soap and Detergents Marketing (WOW GLOW)

The Wow Glow brand began its journey at the start of the year, a dynamic skincare brand based in Malabon, specializing in a comprehensive range of skincare products. Recently they have launched more products such as soaps, lotions, and sunscreens, each meticulously developed and formulated to enhance and protect the skin.

THE MAIN EVENT.

To further push boundaries on the capabilities of Filipino brands, BeauCon Manila has partnered with Locad, a logistics engine company that helps enable e-commerce brands to grow their omnichannel business and automatically store, pack, ship, and track orders across Asia-Pacific, with more locations opening soon.

Throughout the exposition, visitors will be treated to a captivating showcase of beauty, each infused with the distinct and ICONIC essence of Filipino heritage and ingenuity – from witty and catchy brand names, unique and trendy formulations, to clever and trending marketing stunts and strategies that push the boundaries of selling beauty products.
