CITY OF SAN FERNANDO, Pampanga, July 8 (PIA) — Kapampangan film “Manenaya” (Waiting) won the Jury Prize award in the 11th Gawad Tanglaw sharing the honors with “Migrante” (The Filipino Diaspora).
“The movie, which is filmed in black and white, is about the quest for truth and personal triumph through the challenges of life,” film director Richard Legaspi shared.
It is a story of a determined woman and her journey through life under the backdrop of the various landscapes of Pampanga.
She brings with her a wooden casket for her husband who is a victim of political killings.
It stars Bor Ocampo of Sta. Rita town and Agnes Romero from the City of San Fernando.
Gawad Tanglaw or Gawad Tagapuring mga Akademik ng Aninong Gumagalaw is an award conferred upon movie artists and filmmakers for excellence in film.
The award giving body is composed of critics, scholars, historians, and humanities professors—all academics—who select the winners.
