SAN FRANCISCO – The University of the Philippines Alumni Association of San Francisco (UPAASF) invites all UP alumni and friends to the highly-anticipated “UPstanding Pinoy Gala,” happening on Saturday, May 31, 2025 at 6:00 PM at the Hilton San Francisco Airport Bayfront. Doors open for registration at 5:00 pm.
This gala is more than a celebration, it’s a call to community spirit! The evening will honor the following exceptional alumni who exemplify the UP values of excellence, integrity, and service: Minette Sy Chan, Ben Balatbat and Homer Pantua. Other highlights of the event include the Keynote address by Consul General Neil Ferrer, Philippine Consulate General in San Francisco, induction of the newly-elected UPAASF Board of Directors, and the big reveal of UPAASF’s 2025–2026 initiatives in mentorship, cultural and community programs.
There will also be Live entertainment highlighted by Participatory Poetry by Gigi Carunungan, Crowd Bingo during reception, raffle prizes, dinner, dancing and camaraderie!
“The UPstanding Pinoy Gala is an evening to honor our shared roots, recognize our collective impact, and ignite new ways to lead and uplift one another”, said Rosario Calderon, UPAASF chair. “We welcome all Iskos, Iskas, and friends to be part of this inspiring celebration.”
