Jolina Magdangal pregnant, Megastar Sharon Cuneta to star in her first soap opera

A BIT of good news was recently announced by actress/singer and host Jolina Magdangal, when she happily admitted that she is two months on the way with husband Mark Escueta.

Jolens, as she is fondly called by her friends and fans, shared that she and Mark were ecstatic when her pregnancy was confirmed. However, although she wanted to announce the happy news right away, they had to back down a bit on telling people because of her delicate condition. Jolina explained that she has been experiencing spotting on and on the past few weeks, that her doctor also advised her not to announce her pregnancy yet until her condition is stable. The doctor also ordered Jolina complete bed rest.

Jolina and Mark’s family and friends are very happy about the news. Jolina shared that the people closest to them told her that they have been praying for them to have a child. The actress is asking for continued prayers, until at least after her first trimester.

As for “morning sickness,” Jolina said that she feels dizzy and nauseated during the wee hours of the morning. As for cravings, she has noticed anything different with what she eats, but claims to have been a fan of My Husband’s Lover.

We pray for Jolina’s continued health and safety during her pregnancy.

The Megastar Sharon Cuneta is starring in a soap opera, a first in her career that spans over thirty years. Entitled Madam Chairman, the primetime series is directed by Joel Lamangan and written by Joey Reyes.

Dubbed as a “tawa-serye” Sharon plays the role of Bebeth de Guzman, a mother who suddenly becomes a barangay chairman. The series will be aired on TV5 this September. Although she is playing a barangay chairman, in real life, she has no desire of entering politics. Stating that her priority is still her children and family, Sharon explained that she still does her share to help certain causes.

The Megastar shared that working with two great directors made her decide to accept the project. Although she has received offers to do soap operas during her stay with ABS-CBN, Sharon explained that the show’s story is different, relevant and inspiring that she believes it will help pull the Kapatid Network to be in line with its rival networks like ABS-CBN and GMA 7.

It’s a sad week for Hollywood and many of Glee fans all over the world because of the sudden passing of actor Cory Monteith, who plays the role of Finn Hudson in the FOX hit TV series.

Last Saturday, July 13, the 31-year-old actor was found dead in his room of the Fairmont Pacific Rim Hotel in Vancouver, British Columbia. Autopsy results showed that cause of Cory’s death was a mixture of heroin and alcohol.

Cory has been open about his struggle with addiction since he was a teenager, and that he had a serious problem. Last April, he checked himself in a treatment facility for “substance addiction” and asked for privacy. It was not his first time in rehab because he already received treatment when he was only 19.

The actor’s real-life girlfriend and Glee co-star Lea Michele is devastated and has requested for privacy. Lea plays the role of Rachel Berry, Finn’s love interest in the show.

Glee, which debuted in 2009, is in its fourth season, became an immediate hit and made stars of its relatively unknown cast. It has featured high-profile guest stars including Gwyneth Paltrow and Britney Spears; and once included our very own Charice Pempengco in a number of episodes.
