MANILA — Actress Ria Atayde is drawing a clear line between public visibility and private life, outlining a deliberate approach to protecting her family from scrutiny.

Atayde, 34, the daughter of veteran actress Sylvia Sanchez, spoke on April 15, 2026 during a press event for The Silent Noise, a thriller series starring her husband, Zanjoe Marudo.

The couple, who married in a civil ceremony in March 2024, are raising their 19-month-old son, Sabino, with what Atayde described as “selective transparency.”

“You can be a public figure and still have a private life,” she said, emphasizing that she finds “peace in privacy” and does not believe every aspect of life needs to be shared.

Her remarks reflect the pressures of celebrity culture, where social media speculation and entertainment reporting often blur personal boundaries. In late 2025, Marudo publicly denied rumors about their relationship, describing them as unfounded.

Atayde, who has stepped back from acting since becoming a mother, said her priority remains hands-on parenting. She described motherhood as her most important role and indicated no immediate plans to return to full-time screen work. She credited a support system of family and fellow mothers, alongside personal routines such as Pilates and tennis, for helping maintain balance.

She also expressed support for Marudo’s professional projects, including his on-screen pairing with Angelica Panganiban, noting that both understand the demands of their industry and do not allow such roles to affect their relationship.

Her approach underscores a measured balance: a public career sustained by visibility, and a private life defined by clear limits.
