MANILA — Lovi Poe says becoming a mother has changed a life once organized around carefully planned routines, giving the actress a more flexible approach as she balances caring for her daughter with a return to work.
Speaking recently with journalist Karen Davila, Poe described herself as someone who previously scheduled much of her day precisely, from exercise to departure times for work. Motherhood disrupted that structure, she said, and made her less concerned with maintaining perfection.
Poe also disclosed that she experienced serious complications while giving birth. She said she developed HELLP syndrome and preeclampsia and was too groggy immediately after delivery to hold her newborn. She said she was unable to get up for a time afterward.

Poe and British film producer Monty Blencowe announced in October 2025 that they had welcomed their first child. They married Aug. 26, 2023, at Cliveden House in Berkshire, England.
In describing the newborn months, Poe said she chose to take an active role in the demanding daily routine. She recalled waking about every three hours for feeding, burping and diaper changes, despite having help from family and others close to her. She said she wanted to experience that period herself because her daughter would grow quickly.
Poe has since resumed professional work. In July, she formally joined Star Magic, ABS-CBN’s talent-management arm, calling the move a longtime goal.
While working on set, Poe said she has childcare assistance. At home, she said, she takes over feeding and bedtime duties when her daughter is still awake.
