Veteran broadcaster says her work with the channel is on camera, not in corporate ownership
LOS ANGELES — Korina Sanchez-Roxas brought her familiar broadcast presence to Los Angeles as Bilyonaryo News Channel reached out to Filipino audiences in North America, but questions about her role beyond the anchor desk also became part of the conversation.
During BNC’s North America Caravan, Sanchez-Roxas addressed speculation over whether her prominent role on the channel extended to an ownership stake. She clarified that her role at BNC is on camera, not in corporate ownership.
The clarification drew a clear line between Sanchez-Roxas’ work as one of the channel’s on-air personalities and the ownership of the media organization.
At BNC, Sanchez-Roxas’ role has been public-facing rather than corporate. She appears as one of the channel’s anchors as the network broadens its identity beyond business news, with programming that now reaches into public affairs, national issues, sports and lifestyle for viewers on Philippine broadcast and cable platforms.
The available ownership references point elsewhere. Prage Management Corporation lists Bilyonaryo and BNC.PH among its media properties, while Media Ownership Monitor Philippines identifies Prage as a private stock corporation owned equally by Renato M. Marfil and Gil C. Cabacungan Jr.
The Los Angeles stop capped a three-city North America tour that also brought BNC before Filipino audiences in San Francisco and Las Vegas, underscoring the network’s effort to reach viewers beyond the Philippines and strengthen its connection with Filipino communities overseas.
