“Bravo!” exclaimed Loida Nicolas Lewis, outstanding Filipino American community leader, about the Philippine Ballet Theatre’s “Ibalon,” which she watched recently in New York, and will be presented on October 27, 5:00 pm at the Cerritos Center for the Performing Arts.

Nicolas Lewis praised the coming show in a statement: “ ‘Ibalon’ is a Bicol epic legend written by Mariano Goyena del Prado of Albay in the early 20th century and turned into an exquisite ballet performance by the Philippine Ballet Theatre (PBT). The inclusion of Igorot and Muslim dance patterns was brilliant. And the Filipino ballet dancers were world-class performers. Mabuhay, Philippine Ballet Theatre!”

The pioneering Filipina lawyer, businesswoman, philanthropist, AAPI (Asian American and Pacific Islander) advocate, community leader and author, added, “Bravo for the exciting program on October 27!” The New York staging that Nicolas Lewis watched also drew raves from the audience at the LaGuardia Performing Arts Center.
