Glendale, CA – “Bringing the Community Together” as more than 800 attendees gathered at the YMCA of Glendale to “Celebrate YOUniqueness,” a community event.

On Its 3rd year, “It gets better and bigger every year, what a huge success – Celebrate YOUniqueness” Festival 2025. Standing room and full pack,” said event Co-Chairs Edith M. Fuentes, FABAG’s Board Member and George Saikali, CEO and President of Glendale YMCA.

 


The free and open to all event is a collaboration by the City of Glendale, YMCA and different ethnic groups – Armenian, Filipino, Korean, Latino, Italian, Irish, etc. Food, songs, music, dances, handicrafts, arts and crafts, exhibits from the represented ethnic groups highlighted the event.

The YOUniqueness committee gave huge thank you to all the  Special Guests, Dignitaries / Legislative Offices and Representatives who attended – Consul Marie Chieng and Cultural Officer Edel Valencia from the LA Philippine Consulate, Maria Sosyan from Congressmember Friedman, Carlos Arce from Senator Perez,  Catherine Del Rosario from Assemblymember Jessica Caloza, Assemblymember Nick Schultz, Mayor Elen Asatryan, Councilmembers Daniel Brotman and Ardy Ardashes Kassakhian, GUSD, GCC. Thank you, too, to all Donors and Sponsors, Performers, and most of all many community members for attending every year.

 



A big KUDOS to the YOUniqueness TEAM, George Saikali and Editha M. Fuentes event Co-Chairs – with Elizabeth Manasserian, Nora Yacoubian, Marisol Chianello, Renee Rasper, Anita Quinonez Gabrielian, Catherine Yesayan, Arnella Putzel, Beth Crawford, TC Kim and more.

 

The Filipino American Business Association of Glendale (FABAG-GLAC) actively participated with a display table of Philippine arts and crafts, food station with delicious “pancit” noodles, “lumpia” meat rolls courtesy of Max’s Restaurant, Elvira D Suavillo, House of Grill, Cynthia Lizan and yummy “puto / kutchinta” sweet rice cakes baked by Aida Rasper. DJ John Solon did another great job.
